From beginning-of-school check lists to daily routines and discipline to organizational tools to end-of-the-year reflection, this collective of educators will involve evidence-based and experience-based strategies from the presenter's perspective and group collaboration in gleaning what works with a range of site and student situations. Discipline strategies and role playing will constitute the majority of the allotted time. Discussion of how consistency; firm, but fair treatment; and bribery can show themselves in effective ways with assorted school and classroom scenarios. Teachers who are new to the music classroom or those who feel stuck will find joy in their daily music experience and to find fulfilling non-music teacher experiences outside of school. Participants will need to be prepared to share a personal classroom 'glow' and 'grow'. TESS components addressed: 2c, 2d, 1e.
