Two topics will be explored during this interactive session. In the morning, we will explore academic optimism and how it affects student performance. We will also delve into various behavior management techniques designed to engage all students with an emphasis on English learners. In the afternoon, participants will fill their toolboxes with tried-and-true strategies to help struggling learners better access core instruction. The emphasis will be on student talk and interaction which enables ELs to make meaning of content while growing their skills in language development.
