NEA - Farm to School

We know that farm to school can feel like an add-on to an already busy schedule, but we also know the importance of it! This course serves to educate on how a nutrition director, superintendent, teacher, paraprofessional, nurse, counselor, ANYONE, can start or grow a farm to school program. Participants will receive a free toolkit consisting of a 5 Step Planning Process and worksheets to help them move through the steps. They will leave knowing the next steps they can take toward educating their students on where their food comes from, providing them with local produce, and giving them hands on experience in growing food.

Arkansas specific contacts, resources, success stories and examples will be provided to give insight to the Arkansas Farm to School community participants so they will know what is happening, who to contact, and how to get started or build on their existing program. There will be discussion throughout the course to answer any questions, share thoughts and ideas, and to facilitate an environment where people can connect and grow together.
