Number Talks with Fractions and Decimals Book Study
This session will focus on implementing Number Talks involving fractions and decimals into the curriculum. Number Talks are "five-to- fifteen-minute classroom conversations around purposefully crafted problems that are solved mentally." Participants will analyze the research behind number talks and how to determine effective number talks for specific students. Participants will practice recording strategies and questioning techniques through hands-on activities. TESS Components: 1a, 1b, 1d, 1e, 1f, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 4a, 4d
