WDMESC: Perkins Stakeholder Meeting

The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, which amended the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV), was signed into law on July 31, 2018. The amended Act, now called Perkins V, brings changes to the $1.2 billion annual federal investment in Career and Technical education (CTE). The purpose of the Act is to develop more fully the academic knowledge, Career and Technical, and employability skills of secondary and postsecondary students who enroll in Career and Technical education programs and programs of study.

In preparation for developing a State Plan for Perkins V, AR CareerEd is organizing stakeholder meetings across the state to facilitate dialogue and gather valuable input. The theme "Be Bold" will be a consistent message and theme to ensure students are prepared for their next step toward a future career. The stakeholder meetings are open to the public, and local community members and business and industry representatives are encouraged to participate

This will be a virtual meeting. Click the following link shortly before the meeting starts, to join.
