OUR Paraprofessional Personal Care Continuing Education
This training is a 6 hour course that will provide an overview of understanding autism, including characteristics of autism, practices for challenging behavior, strategies for classroom success, and effective use of teacher supports in conjunction with research from Organization for Autism Research (OAR). Participants will also gain a general understanding of the basics of behavior: what is behavior, principles of behavior, ABC contingency, and functions of behavior.
