Teachers will develop strategies and design lessons that focus on literacy and writing strategies in the classroom.
Teachers will develop a plan that includes: Weekly writing assignments in ALL classes. Students in ALL classes in a department read one content focused book or an equivalent number of pages, manuals, etc. Committing individually to identify students who cannot read and seeking assistance to help them become readers. Committing to a research project, with a writing component, in ALL classes in the department. Committing to learning and using high impact literacy strategies to teach content in ALL classes.
