WDMESC: Child Development and Parenting



Do you have an interest in learning more about child development? This session is not only for FACS teachers who teach the Child Development and Parenting course, although a good portion of the session will be looking through the frameworks for this course and exploring concepts and lessons to use in your classroom. Elementary and Pre-K teachers, parents and foster parents of young children could benefit. During this session, we will discuss concepts like Brain Architecture and Adverse Childhood Experiences as well as the long-time argument of heredity vs. environment. Participants of this session will receive all notes and google slides created by the presenter that go along with Arkansas Child Development and Parenting frameworks. During this session, we will discuss concepts like Brain Architecture and Adverse Childhood Experiences as well as the long-time argument of heredity vs. environment. We will also spend time discussing the RealCare Baby simulators including practice programming and troubleshooting. You will learn some organization and demo techniques to use in your classroom.

If possible, bring your laptop or tablet!
