Professional Learning Series for New Special Education Teachers: Improving Academic and Behavior Outcomes for Students with Disabilities.
These are the first two days of a five-day series of professional development sessions for special education novice teachers, their co-teachers, and their administrators. Days 1 and 2 will focus on the following:
• Overview of the 5-day series
• Integrating special education instruction within a multi-tiered system of supports
• The development of standards-aligned instruction in Tier 1- general education
• The development of standards-aligned IEPs within the context of Tier 1 instruction
