GFESC - SECURITY AWARENESS WORKSHOP

Cyber security is much more than an IT issue, representing one of the greatest threats to every organization.  Over 95% of data incidents recognize "human error" as a contributing factor.  (IBM Cyber Security Index) Technology alone can only solve about 26% of potential data security threats.  One of the most effective ways to protect your staff and your students is through awareness and preparation.  It is scary to consider how much technology and data are used in our schools without the necessary preparation.  Schools often feel ill-equipped to address this issue on their own.  The Security Awareness Campaign was launched to better meet this growing demand in 4 simple steps.

This workshop is designed for schools and districts to bring a small team to work through all 4 steps.  At a minimum, the team should consist of 1 technology coordinator, 1 school/district administrator, and 1 teacher.  Teams will leave the workshop with resources and practical next steps for developing a security awareness plan.
