Paraprofessional Training for Unlicensed Assistive Personnel in the School Setting

This is for new paraprofessionals needing their certification. The RN in the school district will still provide the individual skills check-off.
The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to have the training necessary about the laws affecting care of special needs students, the relationship between the school nurse and the paraprofessional, the components of delegation and supervision of nursing tasks performed by unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) and its impact on care provided to special needs students. Paraprofessionals will be able to provide competent, safe and effective care in the school setting under the supervision of the professional nurse.
