Erik Francis, ASCD author of Now THAT'S a Good Question! How to Promote Cognitive Rigor Through Classroom Questioning, will lead our session. Participants will learn how to use questioning and inquiry to encourage students to demonstrate different levels of thinking and communicate depth of knowledge in different contexts and new situations. Participants will learn how to rephrase the performance objectives of academic standards into good questions that will promote knowledge acquisition (DOK-1), knowledge application (DOK-2), knowledge analysis (DOK-3), and knowledge augmentation (DOK-4).
