NAESC GPS Formative Assessment Cadre

Grasping Phenomenal Science:    Writing three-dimensional formative assessments which incorporate the Science and Engineering Practices, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and Cross-Cutting Concepts of the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards can be a formidable task.  How do we truly develop targeted assessments and then use these to make further instructional decisions?  In this PD, participants will be introduced to a wide variety of tools and tips that will help them develop these assessments.  Additionally, the assessments will be written in such a way as to be useful as ACT Aspire practice items.  The goal of this cadre is to guide teachers in the actual production of these task items.  Participants will go home with high-quality, classroom ready assessments and access to multiple assessment tools.   Participants will also collect and analyze classroom data to bring to future cadres: TESS Components 1f, 3d, 3e, 4a, 4d, 4e, 4f

Important Session Information:

Participants should bring their laptops and the last three years of ACT Aspire data for their grade, if they have access to it.
