NAESC GPS/ ACT Aspire Practices Cadre
Grasping Phenomenal Science: A continued immersion into the Science and Engineering Practices and ACT Aspire Readiness Preparation. This cadre will be a continuation of our three practices PDs held in the summer which were broken down by ACT Aspire Reporting Categories: Evaluation of Models, Inferences, and Experimental Results, Interpretation of Data, and Scientific Investigations. Attendance at summer PD is not a requirement for attending this cadre. Teachers attending will spend time working with teachers of the same grades to develop ACT Aspire practice tasks to use in their classrooms. These tasks will focus on our Science and Engineering Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Disciplinary Core Ideas. The goal of this cadre is to improve teacher ability to both teach the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards as well as increasing student college and career readiness. Two follow-up cadres will be held in early January and late February.
Important Session Information:
Participants should bring their laptops and the last three years of ACT Aspire data for their grade, if they have access to it.
