This training is a requirement for teachers beginning their first year in Arkansas schools as per the state’s Novice Teacher Mentoring law. Teachers who graduated from a traditional Educational Prep program with a Bachelor’s degree in education will attend Day 1. Teachers in an Alternative Certification program or hired on waiver will attend days 1 and 2. An additional 6 hours will be completed virtually. (For questions, contact email@example.com) Professional development covered during this training includes Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators, Classroom Management, Behavior Management, Students in Poverty, Understanding State Standards, Lesson Planning, EdReflect, and TESS.
For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of
cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any trainings.
