ACA 6-22-2204 requires all superintendents, office managers, cooperative directors, and charter school directors to receive an annual 2-hour financial update. This training on school finance and APSCN coding is commonly called Tier 1 training. The DESE also allows for Tier 1 annual training to count as Tier 2 training, at the discretion of the local district. An annual 2-hour training, commonly known as Tier 2, is required for other school employees that make decisions about budgeting and/or selecting financial codes.
