SCSC-VIRTUAL: Black History IS Arkansas History: Incorporating black history into everyday lessons



Teachers should bring plans for history lessons.  This will be a hands on planning workshop on ways to seamlessly integrate black history into current curriculum and standards.  Using the grade level frameworks and resources from Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, teachers will leave with practical ways to teach important time periods in history through the lens of the African American experience.  Focus will be on 7th and 8th grade Arkansas history, but all grade levels and lesson plans can be addressed in this workshop. TESS Components include 2a, 1e, 1d. This helps meet the Arkansas History professional development requirement.

For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any trainings.
