DSC K-2 Shifting Small Group to Match the Science of Reading

This PD will provide an overview of the shift in small group instruction to match the science of reading as well as focus on using data to inform small groups based on reading sub-skills. We will choose a lesson plan template and plan a lesson using the data analyzed. We will also look at the progression of decodable text use to support decoding with specific phonics features. We will also share ideas for centers that provide practice for students to work independently.
