In this one-day workhop, we will explore how teachers can manage the learning environment. This session is designed to meet you where you are and bring everyone along to a place of more confidence, competence, compassion, and courage in the classroom. The day will provide an opportunity for interaction and participation in a lively discussion of the topics. Teachers, administrators, counselors, and other school personnel will all benefit. Topics include: Complexities of the differentiated classroom present challenges for teachers, creating positive relationships with students, creating a respectful classroom culture, what motivates students?, strategic management versus shooting from the hip, tying behavior to achievement, find out what is behind the behavior and address it, including students from poverty in the classroom culture, using empathy as a tool for motivation and achievement, engaging parents as allies to help students behave and achieve, using Danielson's Framework for Teaching to Improve management, promoting a student-focused classroom.
