AFESC--Having Higher, not Hurried Goals for ESL Students, Zoom session

Often ELs will have strengths and weaknesses depending on their success in each of the domains: Reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Today, it seems that kindergarten is the new 1st grade; high schoolers can graduate with college credit.  This rapid ""hurrying"" can be damaging to ELs, and the right kind of teacher expectations (based upon language acquisition) can contribute to the success of the EL.  Are your expectations high or just hurried? Participants will determine if their own goals for their ELs are high or hurried.

This session will be via Zoom.  If possible, along with your computer, please have available paper, pen, and phone.  For the best learning experience, we ask that participants keep their cameras on and stay muted unless speaking.
