Description: This introductory Grasping Phenomenal Science (GPS) session is designed for any K-12 teacher or instructional leader who wants to know more about science instruction aligned with the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards. Learn how to interpret the standards for 3-dimensional teaching and learning in the classroom. Participants need to have access to a device with internet capabilities and a Google account. Participants must participate in online discussions, complete assignments, and provide evidence of application of tools taught in this session. Each session is designed for 5-20 participants. This session will be delivered using Zoom and Google Classroom in two 2.0 hr. Zoom sessions interspersed with small group independent learning supported directly by Coop and DESE science specialists across the state. Independent work time TBD by the facilitator. Prior to this session, participants must complete the DESE Science Professional Learning Prerequisite video, which will introduce essential foundational knowledge about science teaching and learning in Arkansas.
