ARESC-Looking for Ideas to Ameliorate Behavioral Issues?
Dr. Riffel will share with you her best tips based on over 40 years of working with behavioral issues in and out of the classroom. Laura has a three-pronged approach to changing behavior that is based on years of research. She will teach you how to 1) Revise the Environment to set students up for success, 2) Replace the Behavior by explicitly teaching the replacement behavior, and 3) Reframe your Response by feeding the replacement behavior and extinguishing the targeted behavior. She will share a book with you based on a meta-analysis of the best interventions with real-world examples of what that looks like in the classroom. Dr. Riffel will also share a book she and Dr. Eggleston have worked on since 2004 collecting research from students on what motivates them.
