NAESC Behavior Essentials: Necessary Skills to Effectively Change Behavior: Session 1 - Essential Behavior Concepts

The Behavior Essentials is a two session, twelve hour professional development to help school staff understand and change behavior. Behavioral concepts covered in this first session of Behavior Essentials will provide a foundation and an understanding of behavior. Common language and the process used to address challenging behavior will be promoted through the behavioral concepts.

This workshop will be offered as a blended learning opportunity. Participants will attend a 2.5 hour training through Zoom (video conferencing) on Day 1 (6-19-20), as well as a 2.5 hour Zoom meeting on Day 2 (6-23-20). Zoom meetings will be from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM each day and involve lecture, group activities/discussion, and individual tasks. Participants will complete a short homework assignment between Day 1 and Day 2 of training.  Upon completion of the training, participants will experience a theoretical shift relative to behavior change.
