This interactive online course provides an introduction to Antecedent Based Interventions (ABIs). ABIs are interventions that increase the likelihood of appropriate behaviors and/or decrease the likelihood of problem behaviors by changing events that occur before a behavior. Throughout this course, you will learn about several different ABIs including: Visual Supports, Priming, Highly Preferred Materials, Offering Choices, Premack Principle, High Probability Requests, and Noncontingent Reinforcement. Participants will be introduced to each ABI and learn how to implement each one with fidelity. This online course may be completed at your own pace. Topics and quizzes must be completed to 100% and videos must be viewed completely in order to receive a certificate of completion for the course. The course may be accessed through https://arbss.org/ website by clicking on the courses tab and creating a free account.
Participants registered through escWorks will have until June 8, 2020 to complete the course for credit. After completion of the course, each participant should email their certificate (scanned or screenshot) to shana.bailey@northcentralcoop.org and credit will be given in escWorks. A follow-up Q & A Zoom meeting will be held on June 8, 2020 from 2:00-3:00 PM for participants to interact with Shana Bailey, K-12 Behavior Support Specialist at NAESC.
