Permanent Word Storage is the eighth course in the fifteen-hour Science of Reading learning proficiency pathway D as well as the awareness pathway. This training will be facilitated virtually and guided questions will be discussed via ZOOM. Exactly how is it that we read and remember words? How does understanding permanent word storage lead to better instruction? Dr. David Kilpatrick, Professor of Psychology at UNY Cortland, explores how word-level reading and sight vocabulary work, why some students struggle in these areas, and what effective instruction for these struggling students should include.  TESS components addressed: 1A, 1B, and 3A.
