This introductory Grasping Phenomenal Science (GPS) session is designed for any teacher or instructional leader who wants to know more about science instruction aligned with the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards. Learn how to interpret the standards for 3 dimensional teaching and learning in the classroom. Participants need to have access to a device with internet capabilities and a google account is suggested. Participant expectations are to participate in online discussions, complete assignments, and provide evidence of application of tools taught in this session. Participants must view a short video that highlights DESE mission and vision, High Leverage Practices (HLPs), and G.U.I.D.E for Life prior to the virtual session.
The first meeting, a 2 hour module on June 3 will be a facilitated whole group meeting. An independent study module follows, and the session concludes with a 2 hour facilitated whole group meeting on June 10. An email will be sent to registrants with technology requirements, pre-session requirements, and other information.
