NAESC Essential Practices for Wondrous Science: Asking Questions
In this first in a series of online professional development sessions, “Essential Practices for Wondrous Science”, teachers learn how to leverage the power of student questioning. The practice of asking questions is essential to developing scientific insight and expressing the natural curiosity students possess. Teachers can guide their students in generating, critiquing, revising, and prioritizing their phenomenon- or problem-based questions into investigable pathways to understanding and solutions. This three hour blended online professional development includes facilitated collaborative and independent engagement, and prepares the way for the next session in the series, Planning and Carrying Out Investigations.
