Do you need free, high quality, vetted units of instruction for middle school science?
Join us as we engage in the first of a series of professional development sessions that will guide participants through the anchoring phenomenon routine that initialized the exemplary OpenSciEd instructional materials. The three-hour facilitated interactive online session transitions into a three-hour independent session that gives teachers the opportunity to explore an OpenSciEd unit at middle school grade levels. The goals of OpenSciEd high-quality science units, aligned to the Framework and NGSS, are to ensure any science teacher, anywhere, can access and download freely available, high quality, locally adaptable full-course materials. This session segues into the next 6-hour session in the OpenSciEd instructional model, the Investigation Routine.
This is a virtual workshop. A link will be sent to ESC email of those who are registered.
6 hours credit = 3 hours online + 3 hours independent work due on July 23, 2020.
