NEA - Arkansas History: A Focus on Learning (Virtual)

Use historical facts, faces, and places to inspire your students and promote an appreciation of our great Arkansas history!  This workshop provides the foundation for a cross-curricular approach and begins with a comprehensive look at the Great Depression and the effects on Arkansas.  Integrating regional historical fiction, the focus will move to the era of sharecropping. Continuing the historical timeline, World War II propaganda and economic data will be analyzed to reveal resource scarcity and the role that women played by entering the work force.  Primary source documents and the evolution of Barbie Dolls will review historical trends in women’s share of the labor force and occupations.

This workshop is designed for all grade levels and addresses national standards.  Attendees will receive FREE ready-to-use resources and lesson plans.  Don’t miss the chance to delve into Arkansas history with a cross-curricular focus!
