GREC-ZOOM-Virtual Quiz Bowl -

We have yet to decide definitively, but we are leaning heavily toward a combination of Zoom (for the moderator) and a program called COBA (Coba.slapbowl.com). COBA stands for Conventional Online Buzzer Application. (yeah, former quiz bowler making good). The moderator can be in one location (like Forrest City), then one team can be in their location (like a classroom in West Memphis) and then the second team can be in a third location (like Helena). The matches can be scheduled (like at the coaches' meeting) through Zoom; this is how the students will see and hear the questions, then use their log in to COBA to buzz in. It has been tested by the AGQBA Executive Board, and the program does adjust responses for lag time. It is a simple but really effective and straightforward program that I think will be our best bet for maintaining a safe environment for all participants. Another bonus is that this is a FREE program. AND NO TRAVELLING IS NECESSARY FOR ANYONE! If there was ever a year for innovation.....here we are.
