SWAEC- School Based Identification- Dyslexia

This training focuses on the implementation of Act 1294 and the school-based identification of students with characteristics of dyslexia in Arkansas. It will prepare educators to be informed members of the school-based teams that make decisions regarding the identification of students exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia for placement in dyslexia intervention programs. There will be a review of the current definition of dyslexia; the core principles of dyslexia identification; case studies; and step-by-step procedures for analyzing assessment data. This training does NOT certify a participant to make a diagnosis, but prepares the participant to be an informed member of a school-based decision-making team.
