This professional development is designed for teachers who
teach a Critical Reading or Strategic Reading Course. However, all teachers are
welcome to attend regardless of whether they teach those courses or not. Four
different professional development days are offered; however, attendance in all
four sessions is not required (but is strongly recommended).
Participants will:

Explain how visual media and digital media can
be used as response to text
·
Create rubrics that assess response to text
·
Incorporate a variety of response to text
strategies into your curriculum
·
Integrate response to text into engagement,
comprehension, and vocabulary
Audience: Strategic Reading Course teachers and Critical Reading
Course teachers. However all middle school and high school teachers are welcome
to attend.
