Participants will:

Understand what is meant by content area reading
and why it is important to teach content area reading skills
·
Examine theoretical models and how they apply to
reading in the content areas
·
Acquire new strategies to increase literacy
engagement in the content areas
This two-day session will meet via Zoom from 9:00-Noon on
July 22 and July 23. Participants will be emailed the Zoom link, PowerPoint,
Handouts, and Breakout Room Documents. Participants will need to be prepared to
manipulate multiple tabs during this highly interactive session. Participants
are required to keep their cameras turned on during this session, as attendance
and participation will be monitored. This session meets the Science of Reading
Pathway D requirement.
Note: You must
attend both sessions to receive the full 6 hours credit.
