This interactive online module is an introduction to Antecedent Based Interventions (ABIs). ABIs are interventions that increase the likelihood of appropriate behaviors and/or decrease the likelihood of problem behaviors by changing events that occur before a behavior. Throughout this course, you will learn about several different ABIs including Visual Supports, Priming, Highly Preferred Materials, Offering Choices, Premack Principle, High Probability Requests and Noncontingent Reinforcement. Participants will be introduced to each ABI and learn how to implement each one with fidelity. This course may be completed at your own pace. Topics and quizzes must be completed to 100% in order to receive a certificate of completion. The course may be accessed through https://arbss.org/ website by clicking on the courses tab beginning as soon as you register on escWorks. You will need to download or screen shot the certificate of completion to email to clara.penney@searkcoop.com for escWorks credit. Participants registered through escWorks will have until June 13th to complete the course for credit. A follow-up Q & A Zoom meeting will be held on June 4 from 9:00am – 10am for participants to interact with Clara Penney, Behavior Support Specialist at Monticello, Seark Co-op.
