OUR Virtual Critical Reading, Day 4: Responding to Text



Day 4 of Critical Reading, Responding to Text, focuses on Critical Reading I standards and scientifically-based best practices in adolescents' responses to text. Participants will learn how students' choice of text response leads to deeper comprehension. Response to text is generated through thoughtful reflection and comprehension of text. Different methods for student response including handwriting and electronic response will be explored so that you can walk away with a solid plan for how to assess students' response to text. This course is highly recommended for those who teach Critical or Strategic Reading courses.

 This session will be offered virtually, so please check to be sure your email address in ESC Works is current. You may complete the course at any time prior to August 1, 2021 for credit--there are no synchronous meetings.  You may contact Merica Howie at mhowie@oursc.k12.ar.us anytime for feedback and support throughout the course.
