NWAESC(2095)---Embedding Character Education Within Unit Content - ZOOM
"Our students today are living in one of the most difficult times… amidst COVID, economic struggles, political and social unrest, isolation etc… The emotional toll is wearing heavily in our students. Social Studies classes must connect content with issues that our students are currently facing. More than ever the emotional well being of our students need to be addressed and supported. Mental health related lessons should be embedded in our teaching. For example, we can normalize and validate feelings by taking bits of time throughout the day for direct social emotional education. In this presentation, I will share ideas on how to embed social studies content with improving and supporting students’ mental health."
