OUR Increasing Rigor Through Depth of Knowlege
This session will focus on the use of Webb's Depth of Knowledge in lesson planning. The goal is to increase the rigor of student work when appropriate. Participants are asked to bring samples of lesson plans with them. Following the sharing of information related to DOK, Participants will evaluate of the level and consider ways to increase the level of rigor using the DOK framework. Participants will receive a copy of the professional text, Rigor in Your Classroom: A Toolkit for Teachers by Barbara R. Blackburn and Diving Into Strategic Thinking: A Teachers Field Guide to Depth of Knowledge by Gwendolyn Leininger and Sandra Adams.
