GREC-Accessible Algebra
Are your students scared of "ALGEBRA"? Do they think that letters and numbers don't mix? This workshop will explore problem solving strategies for students that led to a deeper understanding of algebra. We will explore Arkansas Mathematics Standards starting at 6th grade with common misconceptions students may have and challenges they face as they work to master the standards. Math problems that address certain standards will be examined as well as different ways to assign the problem, formative assessment strategies and ways to group students. Ideas on how to support struggling students will also be addressed.
