NEA - Science of Reading Assessor Training



This Six hour face to face training is part 1 of 2 that fulfills the requirement for anyone who will evaluate teachers for the proficiency requirements in Act 1063 (The Right to Read Act). Across the course, participants will work through rubrics, videos, and scenarios to make determinations about how to score and coach teachers as they work toward proficiency in the practices supported by the science of reading. This training will cover K-2 and 3-6 content areas as well as K-12 special education and K-6 ELL. Following the six hours of face to face training, there will be six hours of work in an LMS through connect2digital. Prerequisites for attendance: Must be a licensed administrator who, in the normal scope of his or her duties, is tasked with observing teachers and required to conduct evaluations of personnel. Must have attended every day of phase I of a specific proficiency pathway Must have completed the form below and sent phase 1 pathway to Sandy Shepard at sandy.shepard@dawsonesc.com
