NWAESC(2095)--Creating an Inclusive Peer Mentor/Adaptive Art Class
How to establish an inclusive art class through partnerships with Special Education teachers, support providers, counselors, and trained student mentors. Focus is on creating an adaptive art class geared toward the social, emotional, and physical needs of exceptional needs learners. Participants will learn how to structure the learning environment, how to develop an effective curriculum for scope and sequence, how to utilize paraprofessionals, how to train typical-performing peers as co-teaching student mentors, and how to adapt tools and materials that allow all students to engage in artistic expression.
