NEA - SLP's and Dyslexia: What role do I play?

This workshop will give SLP's a basic idea of the definition, early warning signs, and myths of dyslexia. It will offer suggestions on how SLP's can consult with classroom and Sped teachers about reading skills. SLP's will see how their role as specialists in communication lends to the curriculum of a student with dyslexia. It will also foster their knowledge of how they can facilitate that student's learning through activities in therapy sessions. SLP's and Sped teachers will get some hands on learning experience and are encouraged to bring activities they feel they could share with others.

If you are not under contract with the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative or one of our 14 member districts, you will be responsible for all fees related to this workshop.  The fee for this workshop is $25.  Payment is expected the day of the training unless prior arrangements have been made.
