ARESC-ARESC Connecting Educators to Industry

The goal of Connecting Educators to Industry is to connect educators with industry experts in regions across the state by providing educators with research, data, and information that can be shared with students as they make decisions about future career paths in manufacturing, trucking, construction, forestry, agriculture and other industries in Arkansas. Today’s skilled and professional workforce is aging out and the next generation of new talent is not sufficiently skilled to fill the demand. There are an estimated 5.6 million job openings nationwide, with approximately 60,000 of those in Arkansas. The majority are in high skilled technical fields and these jobs make up a vast majority of the manufacturing sector, a cornerstone of the state’s economy, and represent more than 90 percent of Arkansas’s exports. In addition, industries such as construction, agriculture, and trucking are also struggling to find qualified technical professionals. Upon successful completion, participants will receive: *Six hours of ADE Certified Professional Development *Grade level appropriate resources *Opportunity to visit with industry leaders *Industry Tour(s) *Lunch *$50 Stipend
