Math and science leadership groups
have combined allowing us to have both specific subject-level discussions and
also times focusing on integrating science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics. These sessions encourage collaboration among STEM leaders. Each meeting includes time for focusing on
the major study for the year, open sharing between leaders, specialists sharing
pertinent information, planning for leadership in our schools, occasional guest
speakers, and other topics as needed by the group. This year the major focus is a book study of
“Building Thinking Classrooms” by Peter Liljedahl (the book will be provided
for those who plan to attend regularly). Time is provided for discussion with
leaders from other schools. Meeting
times and the number of credit hours may be adjusted depending on needs at the
time. A more specific agenda is sent out
by the mathematics and science leaders by email a week or two before each
meeting. If you would like more
information or be added to the email list, contact Tim
