NEA - Paraprofessional Training- Core Module-Special Healthcare Needs Training

The purpose of this training provides new paraprofessionals with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities, job description, legal and ethical requirements, and the basics of how to work with students with disabilities. In addition, laws and rulings that have impacted the students will be covered. This training is adopted by the Arkansas Department of Education and is a requirement for paraprofessionals who are assigned to work with special education students. This training is one module of the required paraprofessional modules for certification. The nurses are not required to attend this training. Once paraprofessionals have attended this training and become certified it does not need to be repeated unless they would like a refresher.
