GFESC Safety Issues and Concern in Science and STEM
As schools implement more and more hands-on student-centered learning, it becomes more and more imperative to implement correct safety and chemical hygiene practices. This session will discuss basic lab and classroom safety procedures, the use of the laboratory safety agreements by students, and the storage and use of equipment and chemicals in the classroom. Participants will be provided an ongoing plan of implementation that will meet state regulations as well as provide the safest possible educational experiences for our students.
The workshop will be of special importance to the non-traditional science instructor that has limited experience in laboratory and science classroom safety procedures.
