Participants will dig into the book, Artfully Teaching the Science of Reading, by Tim Rasinski, Chase Young, and David Paige to build a better understanding of the importance of teacher agency, a deeper knowledge of reading research to guide themselves and others to teach reading as both an art and a science.
This is a 7 week course: We will meet once a week for 7 weeks beginning the week of January 30th through the week of March 13th. We will meet via Zoom for the first 6 meetings, and our last meeting will be face to face at South Central on March 16th from 8:30 till 10:30 am.We will have 2 options for our weekly meetings - participants can either meet via Zoom: from 1-2 pm on Tuesdays OR from 6-7 pm on Thursdays
PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND ALL MEETINGS TO RECEIVE FULL CREDIT.
Jennifer Murphy will deliver books and study guides to participants prior to January 30th.
