SE Empowering Writers and the Science of Reading A Dynamic Duo: Grades 2-5 Training (1 or 2 days)

Day 1: Launching into Literacy: Diving into Informational & Narrative Skills- teachers will be trained in the strategies and skills used in the Empowering Writers resources to grow their students’ writing skills in specific genres of writing.

Day 2*: The morning will be focusing on how to align Benchmark’s reading comprehension program with the Empowering Writers resources to build not only better readers but better writers as well. In the afternoon session, teachers will be trained in the Empowering Writers Revising and Editing Resource, focusing on fundamental skills in syntax and grammar. *NOTE: Only for teachers who have attended Day 1 training.
