GFESC Ready, Set, Go! Hands on Activities for Music Students
Led by veteran teacher, teaching artist and Opera singer Patty Oeste, this workshop will be a practical collection of hand-on activities that teachers can use to get student attention and set classroom climate; prepare students for deeper learning; deepen learning for advanced students; and assess student retention and understanding. The workshop will involve basic musical instruments that most music teachers will have as well as discuss alternatives for those teachers with extremely limited access to instruments. Teachers will leave with a toolbox full of classroom tested activities to actively engage students in the fall from day one in the music classroom.
