WDMESC: Teaching Algebraic Concepts for Understanding, Engagement, and Fluency
Come participate in learning activities that progress through algebraic concepts, such as solving equations, and systems, from grade 6 through Algebra II. The activities will be based on evidence-based practices in What works clearinghouse guides and on Learning progressions for Expressions and equations and algebra. Knowledge of algebraic concepts used at each grade level and how they build will be useful for teachers to make connections to upcoming concepts. build new concepts from previous understandings, teach for deeper understanding and fluency, and have ideas that can be used in RTI.
