3-6 RISE Day 3: Morphology and Etymology

Participants will develop an understanding of how the sound, structure, and history of our language all work together to influence the pronunciation, spelling, and meaning of words. Participants will understand that English is built on Anglo-Saxon, Latin, and Greek and examine how components of these layers can be expanded to create new words. Assessment strategies will be examined and model lessons will be analyzed to connect theory to classroom practice.
